Back when it started, the club’s membership numbered just twenty-five. Members played on four rinks, before retiring to the weatherboard clubhouse for a refreshing drink and a natter.
The first club championship was played the same year the club was founded – auspiciously won by the club’s first president, one Mr G. T. Lyons. Somewhat scandalously, bowls was even played on Sundays… but only in the afternoons.

Oh, how times have changed. Tens of thousands of members, barefoot bowls and bubbly, barbeques in the sun… Mr G. T. Lyons would hardly recognise it.
And yet, the original spirit remains – a place for friends and family to come together and make lasting memories. The Greens is the next chapter in our storied history. Here’s to the next century.
