Barefoot Events

Want to do something different for your next event? From birthdays to team-building events, hen’s parties to anniversary celebrations, barefoot bowls at The Greens will give your guests an experience to remember.

We’ll start with the obvious: it’s fun! But you’ll also get to experience bowls on our state-of-the-art greens, try something completely different – and get some exercise while you’re at it. What’s more? It’s a relaxed way to spend a day with your friends or family, or bond with your work mates. Give it a go!

Barefoot bowling sessions typically run for 90 minutes.. It costs $10 per person and each session includes your bowls, green and a quick bowls lesson from a pro. And if you’ve never played before, we’ll be on hand to share some tips and techniques (and help you get the edge on your mates) – free of charge.

Never played bowls before? Don’t worry, you’ll pick it up quickly. The goal is to get your bowls as close to the jack as possible – scoring is 1 shot for each bowl you or your team has that’s closer to the jack than your opponents.

Each player has two bowls – it’s important to make sure you have two identical bowls. Bowls come in different sizes and weights – try and choose a bowl you feel comfortable with.

To start, the first player on one team will bowl, then the first player on the other, and so on. Once the last player has bowled their last bowl, all of the players head to the other end of the green to determine the winner of the end and the score.

The winning team will then place the mat and play the first bowl continuing on as before.
